The latest partnership between Mt. Sinai Hospital and Geo. A. Kelson Company involves renovation of the existing building and a six storey addition with a research laboratory. This project includes six stories totaling 137,000 square feet.
The entire Women’s and Infant’s project will include new labour and delivery rooms, a new neonatal intensive care unit and level II nurseries, as well as modern antenatal and post-natal units and expended ambulatory care space.
The first phase of the project involves structural upgrades to the hospital, and building a six-storey addition on top of the hospital’s Murray Street west wing on University Avenue.
Mechanical scope for the first phase as follow:

- Mechanical work for structural reinforcement Levels 1-13

- Generator Fuel Oil System (replacement of existing emergency power fuel oil storage tanks,
extension of vent piping, fill piping, alarm switches, installation of three new fuel oil tanks
and new fuel oil mech. Room..at the basement level.)
