The new Roy McMurtry Youth Centre consists of 10 separate units, each of which will house up to 16 youth (giving a total capacity of 224). This will be a high-level secure facility that will accommodate youth in detention (awaiting trial or sentencing) and youth in custody (serving their sentence). The project is LEED certified and features numerous energy and water efficiency measures.
