Sanofi Pasteur Project - Research Facility Building 95

This is a new, state-of-the-art 80 million Canadian dollars research facility at the company’s historic Connaught Campus in north Toronto, to boost innovation in vaccine research for the benefit of global health. The four storey building has three levels of office and research laboratory rooms.  Mechanical rooms, located in the basement and penthouse, provide the necessary services to support the labs and office spaces. Specialized piping systems serving the labs include compressed air, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, RO water, vacuum, and clean steam. Air handling equipment provides environmental comfort as well as room pressurization, and dedicated laboratory exhaust.
The new R&D facility will incorporate a number of new technologies to reduce environmental impact. A heat reclamation system will reduce heating and cooling requirements, the insulated building panels and glass structure will reduce energy consumption, and the building will be fitted with energy-efficient lighting. The facility’s electrical and steam requirements will be serviced by the company’s existing natural gas-powered cogeneration system.

The new building will also provide addition cage washing facilities and will involve the extension of piping services including the animal watering system. New air handling units will provide condition air to the new extension.
