Geo. A. Kelson acted as the design-build mechanical contractor on this new food processing plant and office for Kellogg’s. The project had a fast-track construction schedule and unique mechanical requirements and was performed under a Guaranteed Maximum Price contract.
This is the first cereal manufacturing facility that Kellogg’s has built in North America in almost 20 years. The plant, which employs about 100 people opened December 2007.
The project started in April 2007 and had a deadline date for December 2007. The project was completed from start to finish, in an eight month period, on-time; enabling Kellogg’s to meet their saleable food production deadlines.
The process support equipment along with the building Plumbing and HVAC systems were installed by Geo. A. Kelson Company Limited. The installation included: two process steam boilers, two split system D/X chillers, two air cooled air compressors, processed hot and cold water systems, natural gas utility system as well as the base building and process HVAC systems.
Geo. A. Kelson Company Limited successfully managed the construction of the entire building from the underground building services, to the commissioning of the equipment and systems to ensure all systems functioning as per the contract specifications and documents.
