GlaxoSmithKline Building 9 Extension
In the spring of 2006, GlaxoSmithKline awarded the manufacturing of a leading diabetes medication to their Mississauga Plant.  A four-storey extension of approximately 35,000 sq.ft. was undertaken to provide the necessary manufacturing area and support services. The extension consisted of a new shipping and receiving dock, a four-story automated robotic warehouse, multiple levels of manufacturing clean rooms, and mechanical support areas.

 Our work included:
  • Installation of new storm, sanitary and process waste drains.
  • Extension of the Sprinkler and Fire Stand Pipe systems complete with Fire Hose Cabinets and wall hydrant.
  • Hoisting and placement of nine air handling units and Process Units into the third and fourth floor mechanical rooms.
  • Extension of chilled water, heating water and steam & condensate piping from existing systems to provide environmental conditioning of the new addition as well serving process systems.
  • Installation of a Compressed Dry Air system to serve process equipment.
