The new Union Tower at 25 York Street will have TELUS as its main tenant. The building has 780,000 sq.ft. of “AAA” rentable space. The building is 30 storeys tall and is LEED Silver status certified. All occupied floors feature a raised flooring system which provides displacement ventilation, improving occupant comfort. Heating and cooling for the building is being provided by ENWAVE, with the chilled water coming from the deep lake water system. Another example of an environmental design featured at Union Tower is the use of a cistern to catch storm water for use in non-potable systems. The building also ties into the ACC and Union Station. Kelson acted as the Mechanical Construction Manager for this project.
Achieved LEED CS (Core & Shell) Gold from the Canada Green Building Council
